Awarded to the team of analysts who best showcase their skills in turning complex datasets into an interactive, engaging report that tells the story within the data
Register your intention to participate by 17:00 on Thursday 29 January.
The Analyst Team of the Year is a virtual challenge taking place 10th - 12th February 2026.
The task is designed so that it can be completed in one working day but the format lets your team complete it anytime during the three-day competition window.
Your team will tackle a realistic case-study-based challenge, where you’ll turn complex datasets into an engaging, interactive deliverable. Using data from the NHS or other published sources, your goal is to load the data into your preferred reporting tool (Excel, Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, etc.) and craft a deliverable that addresses the brief’s requirements.
The datasets provided require no additional cleaning or matching, allowing you to focus on delivering high-quality analysis. This enables you to dive straight into building a report that effectively tells the story and captivates the viewers, encouraging them to explore further.
Why take part?
Showcase your team’s analytical expertise.
- Take part knowing there's a level playing field with all teams tackling the same brief and dataset.
- Work with a hypothetical brief judged anonymously, removing any concerns around commercial sensitivity.
- Enjoy the opportunity for learning, development and team building.
- Gain industry recognition and be in with a chance of wining this prestigious award.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it possible to enter Analyst Team of the Year more than once?
Yes. Teams are welcome to participate more than once, regardless of previous outcomes. Since the task changes annually, all entrants start on a level playing field, with no advantage for those who have competed before.
When do we have to decide our final team line up?
We recommend that you assemble your team in advance and mark the competition date on everyone’s calendars to ensure availability. However, you may adjust your team members after receiving the brief. We will ask you to confirm the final lineup when you submit your completed entry.
What if we submit an entry form but decide not to participate when the competition date arrives?
That’s OK. Submitting an entry form signals your intent to participate but does not commit you. If your plans change, we’d appreciate it if you could inform us as soon as possible to help with our resource planning.
What format should our deliverable take?
The format is up to you. The only restriction is that the judges must be able to view your entry without buying a licence. Entries must be totally anonymised so that it's not possible to identify the individuals or companies who are taking part. We will provide full details of what’s required when we brief you on the task. Initially, you just need to complete an entry form to register your interest.
